Sample Cost Estimates to Build Trails and Features

Foot by foot trail building

Trail costs include design efforts, equipment such as a mini excavator, an operator, and multiple hand tools for trail finishing.  This per-foot cost is widely accepted by the International Mountain Bicycling Association as the per linear foot cost of trail building.

A rollover bridge @ Willow River

The rollover bridge will allow for an intersection of two trails without requiring cross traffic to meet at ground level.

"The WIKI Mountain Bike Club has been instrumental in building and maintaining high quality

trails in western Wisconsin. The expansion in Kinnickinnic State Park will allow more people to

access mountain bike trails in an area of the state with minimal riding options. Ultimately, this

project will get more youth and adults riding bikes!

Riders are not the only benefactor of this trail expansion. This trail expansion will make

Kinnickinnic State Park a destination to ride from not only Western Wisconsin, but draw from

the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area helping support the Hudson and River Falls community as

a whole. Trail users support local restaurants, hotels, and other businesses."
